Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick believes putting major “frontline” titles on a subscription service like Game Pass will no doubt help drive memberships, though he suggested this may only work for so long. In a new interview, Zelnick said Microsoft’s decision to put Black Ops 6 on Game Pass on day one “won’t affect” any decisions that Take-Two makes about its own games.And why is that? “Because our decisions are rational,” he told GI.biz.

There is now a playable build of Control 2, meaning the sequel has entered the “production readiness stage.” That’s not the only notable development at Remedy, either. The company announced that the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes have gone into “full production.”Remedy detailed these upcoming projects as part of its half-year financial report for 2024. For Control 2, this stage is an “important milestone” because not only is it playable, but the build highlights some features for the sequel, too. The developer adds this will help “ongoing business negotiations.” Control 2 was officially confirmed in 2022, though earlier this year, Remedy said it was still a ways off.

Though wireless game controllers have been the norm for many years now, some specialty controllers like racing wheels haven’t cut the cord. But there’s at least one upcoming racing wheel that is giving wireless connectivity a try. Hori is releasing a new wireless edition of its Apex Racing Wheel, which initially released as a wired wheel in 2022 for $120. The wireless Hori Apex is officially licensed by Sony and is compatible with PS5, PS4, and PC. After leaving Arkane Studios, Dishonored co-creator Raf Colantonio founded Wolfeye Studios and the company released the isometric immersive sim Weird West, but Wolfeye is now doing something that fans may like even more. Production has begun on a new first-person action-RPG with a retro-sci-fi aesthetic, and Dishonored (and Prey) fans can help shape development.The still-untitled game, which just finished its pre-production phase, looks to draw heavily on the old-but-new technology seen in games like Dishonored, with huge automatons visible in concept art that Wolfeye shared alongside the announcement. Wolfeye says it’s a brand-new IP that will be “built upon the DNA of earlier Arkane games to deliver a rich and detailed world, freedom of how to play, and a deep RPG experience.”

Both games are being combined into one listing, and will be getting some new online features.Over on the Steam page, Doom and Doom II are now bundled into one definitive and newly enhanced package.
